Teneligliptin (20 mg) & Metformin Hydrochloride (500 mg) Extended Release Tablets

It is a cost-effective gliptin and time-tested metformin formula. Teneligliptin is a novel DPP – 4 inhibitor. It is a combination of two antidiabetic medicines which reduce both fasting and post-meal sugar levels and decreases hepatic glucose production. It also decreases intestinal absorption of glucose and improves insulin sensitivity by increasing peripheral glucose uptake and utilization.

Medical uses

It is an effective first-line treatment of Type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Mechanism of action

Metformin + Teneligliptin is a combination of two antidiabetic medicines: Metformin and Teneligliptin. Metformin is an antidiabetic medication (biguanide). It works by lowering glucose production in the liver, delaying glucose absorption from the intestines, and increasing the body’s sensitivity to insulin. Teneligliptin is a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitor that works by increasing the release of insulin from the pancreas and decreasing the hormones that raise blood sugar levels. This reduces both fasting and post-meal sugar levels. Together, they provide better control of blood sugar.
